Fire Extinguisher Engineer – Huddersfield

About the role

We are seeking a Fire Extinguisher Engineer to join our team in Huddersfield. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and installing portable fire extinguishers across client sites in Yorkshire and Manchester, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and install portable fire extinguishers to BS 5306 standards.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive service visits.
• Complete accurate certification, service records and compliance documentation.
• Provide a professional, customer‑facing service on client premises.
• Manage stock and equipment within the company vehicle.
• Communicate clearly with clients about completed work and recommendations.
• Support occasional working‑away assignments (2–3 days per month) with all travel expenses covered.
• Adhere strictly to health & safety procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Previous experience in fire extinguisher servicing or fire protection engineering (preferred).
• FIA qualification or equivalent (training can be provided).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Confident communication and customer‑facing skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Knowledge of BS 5306 fire extinguisher standards.
• Ability to produce certification and compliance documentation.

• Basic salary £24,000–£38,000 per annum plus 5% commission on each completed job.
