Fire Extinguisher Engineer – Southwest London

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Fire Extinguisher Engineer to join a well‑established fire safety company serving commercial clients across Southwest London. The role focuses on servicing portable fire extinguishers and may include basic testing of emergency lighting and fire alarm systems.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and inspect portable fire extinguishers in line with current British Standards.
• Carry out basic testing and servicing of emergency lighting and fire alarm systems where required.
• Complete accurate service documentation for each job.
• Identify defects and recommend remedial actions.
• Provide professional customer service on client sites.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and follows company procedures.
• Travel to commercial sites across Southwest London and occasionally Greater London.
• Maintain the company vehicle, tools and equipment.

Required profile

• Previous experience servicing and maintaining portable fire extinguishers.
• Experience with emergency lighting or fire alarm system testing is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of current fire safety standards and best practices.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to pass a DBS check.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently.
• BAFE certification preferred.
