Fire Marshal – Residential Development, East London

About the role

A temporary agency is recruiting Fire Marshals for a large, busy residential development in East London. This is an active, patrolling role, so applicants must be physically fit, vigilant and comfortable patrolling a large site regularly throughout their shift. Candidates with a valid, in-date Fire Marshal certificate are welcomed, as are SIA-licensed Security Guards willing to undertake Fire Marshal training.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor fire alarm systems and CCTV, and operate fire detection and emergency equipment.
• Carry out regular patrols of all areas of the building.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents and emergencies.
• Carry out other reasonable security duties as required.
• Keep fire exits, stairwells, corridors and escape routes clear of obstructions and hazardous materials.
• Assist with and manage safe, efficient evacuations in an emergency.
• Identify and report potential fire hazards and assess fire risks.
• Maintain a safe environment for residents, visitors and contractors.

Required profile

• A valid, in-date Fire Marshal certificate, or an SIA Security Guard licence with a willingness to train.
• Good physical fitness and the ability to patrol a large site regularly.
• Minimum of two years of verifiable references.
• Vigilant, level-headed and customer-focused approach, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn, with a strong commitment to fire safety and site security.
