Fire Risk Officer – Hybrid (London & South East)

About the role

This hybrid position is based in London and covers a wide geographic area across the South East, including Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. You will be responsible for ensuring fire safety compliance across Group dwellings, common areas and HMOs, working closely with the Fire Safety Manager and external fire authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out regular inspections and fire risk assessments on all Group properties in line with BS9792 and PAS 79.
• Audit and review third‑party fire risk assessments performed by contractors.
• Maintain and periodically update a central database of fire risk assessments for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in developing fire specifications for works in collaboration with relevant colleagues.
• Act as a liaison with the Group’s Primary Fire Authority Partner alongside the Fire Safety Manager.
• Issue fire safety work programmes to delivery teams, ensuring adherence to priority matrix timescales and budget constraints.
• Ensure fire safety information is readily accessible for common areas, schemes and HMOs.

Required profile

• Level 3 Fire Risk Assessment qualification (or equivalent).
• Proven experience conducting fire risk inspections and producing detailed reports.
• Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations within a housing environment.
• Ability to work independently across multiple sites and manage a portfolio of assessments.
