About the role
Our client, a large local government organisation, is seeking an experienced Fire Risk Officer to join their permanent team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring fire safety across housing stock, common areas and HMOs, working closely with the Fire Safety Manager and external partners.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out regular fire risk inspections on all dwellings and common‑area buildings, applying BS9792 and PAS 79 standards.
- Audit and review third‑party fire risk assessments performed by contractors.
- Maintain and periodically update a comprehensive database of fire risk assessments for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in developing fire specifications for works in collaboration with relevant colleagues.
- Act as a liaison with the Primary Fire Authority Partner alongside the Fire Safety Manager.
- Ensure priority‑matrix timescales are met by issuing fire‑safety work programmes within budget.
- Make fire‑safety information readily accessible for all common areas, schemes and HMOs.
Required profile
- Level 3 Fire Risk Assessment qualification (or equivalent).
- Proven experience conducting fire risk inspections and producing detailed reports.
- Strong knowledge of fire safety within a housing environment.
