Fire Risk Officer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Fire Risk Officer to join a well‑established fire safety team. This permanent, hybrid role is home‑based with regular travel across London, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and Somerset, offering a competitive salary of up to £44,529 per year.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out Type 1 and Type 3 fire risk assessments for residential properties, communal areas and HMOs.
• Conduct regular inspections and audit third‑party fire risk assessments.
• Produce detailed fire risk reports and maintain accurate records.
• Develop practical fire safety recommendations and monitor remedial works.
• Collaborate with contractors, internal teams and external agencies to ensure compliance.
• Liaise with fire authorities, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Support fire safety projects and contribute to procedure development.
• Deliver fire safety guidance and awareness training when required.

Required profile

• Level 3 Fire Risk Assessment qualification (or equivalent).
• Minimum two years’ experience conducting fire risk assessments in a housing or residential environment.
• Strong knowledge of current fire safety legislation and standards.
• Experience auditing fire risk assessments and producing technical reports.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel regularly.
