Fire & Security Engineer – Brentwood (South East England)

About the role

We are seeking a multi‑skilled Fire & Security Engineer to join a growing field engineering team covering the Northern Home Counties. The role involves servicing, maintaining and repairing a variety of security and fire alarm systems for commercial, education and infrastructure sites.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair CCTV, intruder alarm, access control and door entry systems.
• Diagnose faults on IP and analogue CCTV networks, control panels and associated equipment.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on fire alarm systems.
• Perform small works, system alterations and minor installation projects.
• Provide technical updates and recommendations to customers and site contacts.
• Complete service reports, risk assessments and method statements.
• Maintain van stock, tools and test equipment.
• Participate in an out‑of‑hours call‑out rota (approximately one week in twelve).

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Fire & Security Engineer or similar multi‑skilled field engineer.
• Strong practical knowledge of IP CCTV, intruder alarms, access control and door entry systems.
• Experience servicing, fault‑finding and repairing fire alarm systems.
• Ability to work independently, manage schedules and communicate effectively with customers.

Required skills

• IP CCTV systems (Hikvision, Dahua, Galaxy).
• Intruder alarm and access control platforms (Texecom, Paxton, PAC, Videx, Gent, Advanced).
• Fire alarm systems (Notifier, Morley, C‑tec).
• Fault diagnosis on analogue and digital security networks.
• Health and safety procedures for safe site work.
