Fire Systems Engineer – Field Based (South West England)

About the role

This is a field‑based position for an experienced Fire Systems Engineer covering North Bristol, Gloucestershire, Swindon and South Wales. You will join a well‑established fire and security company, providing maintenance, fault‑finding and commissioning services for a variety of commercial fire alarm installations.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and fault‑find fire alarm systems on commercial sites.
• Carry out commissioning and small works on fire alarm installations.
• Produce accurate service reports and required documentation.
• Participate in a paid on‑call rota (approximately one week in every 4‑5 weeks).
• Adhere to current British Standards and maintain high health‑and‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience working on fire alarm systems, including maintenance, fault‑finding, commissioning and small works.
• Good understanding of British Standards related to fire alarm systems.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to work independently.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the designated region.
• Effective communication and customer‑service skills.
