Fish Dock Manager – North Devon

About the role

The Fish Dock Manager will lead the safe, compliant and efficient operation of Appledore Fish Dock and the quay at the Appledore Marine Innovation Centre. This part‑time, hands‑on position supports the local fishing industry while ensuring adherence to maritime and fisheries legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day running of the fish dock facilities.
• Manage health and safety and environmental compliance.
• Control financial aspects, including budgeting and cost monitoring.
• Coordinate with the Harbour Master and a wide range of partners.
• Ensure compliance with maritime and fisheries regulations.

Required profile

• Previous harbour and maritime experience.
• Experience managing a fish dock or similar maritime facility.
• Strong knowledge of the fishing industry and relevant regulations.
• Excellent communication, organisational and customer‑service abilities.
• MCA Basic Safety Training (essential).

• Salary pro‑rata £12,614 – £13,773 per annum (full‑time equivalent £31,537 – £34,434).
