Fleet Controller (HGV Specialist)

About the role

The client, a well‑established company in Leighton Buzzard, is seeking an experienced Fleet Controller with a focus on HGVs. You will coordinate planned maintenance, manage breakdowns, liaise with workshops and service providers, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and document planned maintenance using the fleet management platform.
• Receive breakdown and damage repair requests and allocate appropriate service agents or engineers.
• Record all fleet activity accurately in the fleet management software.
• Communicate with customers about maintenance issues and arrange recovery or replacement vehicles when needed.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation for reporting and reference purposes.

Required profile

• Confident personality with strong interpersonal skills.
• Proven experience in the HGV industry (or motor trade/servicing background).
• Ability to handle demanding customers calmly and professionally.
• High energy, results‑oriented and capable of prioritising tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with fleet management software/platform.
