Fleet Controller – HGV Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Fleet Controller to join a thriving logistics operation in Leighton Buzzard. You will coordinate planned maintenance, manage breakdowns, and ensure the fleet complies with safety standards while supporting a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and document planned maintenance using the fleet management platform.
• Receive and act on vehicle breakdown and damage repair requests, allocating engineers or service agents.
• Record all maintenance activity accurately in the fleet management software.
• Communicate with customers about fleet issues and keep them informed.
• Liaise with workshops, mobile engineers, and third‑party service providers to schedule tasks.
• Arrange recovery services and replacement vehicles when breakdowns occur.
• Answer fleet‑related telephone enquiries professionally.

Required profile

• Confident, high‑energy personality with strong interpersonal skills.
• Proven experience in the HGV industry; background in motor trade or servicing is also considered.
• Ability to handle demanding customers calmly and maintain a solution‑oriented approach.
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation abilities in a fast‑moving setting.
