Floor Layer – Temporary (Council Projects)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Floor Layer to join the Bathroom Adaptations Team for a local council in Bournemouth. The role is temporary and full‑time, focusing on specialist flooring installations in level‑access shower rooms and adapted bathrooms within occupied domestic properties.

Key responsibilities

• Install safety flooring, cap and cove systems, and hot‑weld finishes to required specifications.
• Prepare subfloors, including latex screeding, floor‑smoothing compounds and minor repairs on concrete or timber bases.
• Measure, cut, fit and finish sheet‑vinyl flooring, ensuring precise detailing around sanitary ware, shower trays and pipework.
• Collaborate with plumbers, bathroom fitters and other trades to deliver complete bathroom refurbishment projects.
• Use an iPad for job planning, inspection forms and certification documentation.

Required profile

• Valid UK driving licence (a company van will be provided).
• Hard‑working, enthusiastic and able to work independently.
• Experience in occupied domestic properties, preferably with disability adaptations or level‑access shower rooms.
• Good people skills and the ability to manage workload effectively.

What we offer

• Salary £35,000 per annum (PAYE)
• 9am‑5pm, Monday‑Friday (39 hours per week)
