Food & Design Technology Teacher

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Food & Design Technology Teacher to join a forward‑thinking secondary school in Bristol. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality, practical and theoretical lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering creativity and independent learning.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging KS3 and KS4 Food and Design Technology lessons.
• Promote creativity, problem‑solving and practical skills in the classroom.
• Assess, monitor and report on student progress in line with school policies.
• Support the development and enrichment of the Food and Design curriculum.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and student engagement.
• Contribute to wider school life and collaborative departmental work.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher (QTS) in Food Technology, Design Technology or a related subject.
• Early‑career teacher or experienced teacher seeking an inclusive environment.
• Passion for practical learning and student development.
• Confidence delivering KS3 and KS4 content.

Required skills

• Strong subject knowledge in Food and/or Design Technology.
• Experience teaching at KS3 and KS4.
• Effective classroom and practical environment management.
• Proactive, reflective approach to teaching.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
