Food Hall Manager

About the role

The Food Hall Manager will lead the day‑to‑day operations of a thriving farm shop within an independent garden centre. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer experiences through high‑quality, locally sourced produce and artisan products.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily shop operations and maintain high standards of service and presentation.
• Manage stock levels, product selection and supplier relationships to ensure a fresh, appealing range.
• Identify and introduce new products that complement the existing offering.
• Lead, coach and develop the team to provide knowledgeable and friendly service.
• Create attractive displays and merchandising standards that maximise sales.
• Monitor performance, analyse sales trends and drive growth opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and operational standards.
• Collaborate with wider management to support overall business success.

Required profile

• Proven management experience in a farm shop, food hall, delicatessen or premium grocery environment.
• Passion for quality food, local suppliers and seasonal produce.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience in stock management and margin control.
• Excellent merchandising eye and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.
• Effective relationship‑building skills with suppliers, colleagues and customers.
