Food Manager - Part Time

About the role

Sainsbury's is recruiting a Food Manager for its Edinburgh Longstone store (EH14 2ER). The role is part time and permanent, with a starting salary of £32,700 depending on experience, store size, complexity and location. The Food Manager leads the food hall, sets standards and takes overall responsibility for the store at times.

Key responsibilities

• Role model and coach high standards and efficiency across the whole food hall.
• Manage compliance with processes while maintaining excellent shopkeeping and customer service.
• Make sure customers get the food they want so the store is the first choice for food.
• Manage people: performance and capability, disciplinary procedures, and accurate scheduling and pay.
• Assume overall responsibility for running the store and give colleagues direction and support.

Required profile

• Previous line management experience in a fast-paced, operational environment.
• Customer service excellence and ability to coach a team to the same standard.
• Ability to deliver KPIs such as sales, stock availability, customer satisfaction and colleague engagement.
• Comfortable handling performance issues, absences and formal employee relations cases.
• Experience leading teams in a high-volume, customer-facing setting (retail, food service or hospitality).
