Food Technician – Secondary School (Newham)

About the role
The school is seeking a reliable Food Technician to support the Design & Technology department. You will work closely with Food Technology teachers to ensure practical lessons run smoothly and safely.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients, equipment and resources for Food Technology lessons.
- Maintain clean, organised kitchen and classroom environments.
- Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed.
- Uphold food hygiene standards and health‑and‑safety regulations.
- Clean, maintain and safely store kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Assist teachers during practical sessions and support students when required.
- Carry out routine equipment checks and report faults.
- Help with displays, demonstrations and departmental events.
Required profile
- Experience in catering, hospitality, food preparation or a school setting.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and health‑and‑safety procedures.
- Organised, reliable and able to work independently.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
