Food Technology Teacher – 1 Day per Week (Sandwell)

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Food Technology teacher to deliver one day per week of practical lessons to KS3‑KS4 students in a large secondary academy in Sandwell. The role is part of the Design & Technology department and offers the chance to work in a well‑resourced, supportive environment focused on high expectations and student development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons that develop practical cooking skills and nutritional knowledge.
• Assess student progress, record outcomes and provide feedback in line with the national curriculum.
• Maintain rigorous health and safety standards in the kitchen and ensure a safe, organised workspace.
• Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development on a part‑time basis.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching experience in Food Technology.
• Current Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong subject knowledge in food preparation, cooking techniques and nutrition.
• Ability to manage practical lessons confidently and uphold safeguarding policies.
