Foot Mobile Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Smart Managed Solutions is recruiting an experienced Foot Mobile Mechanical Engineer for a high-profile contract across London, working Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00. A Zone 1 and 2 Travel Card is provided with the position. The engineer keeps environmental conditions and critical building systems maintained to the highest standard, carrying out preventive, reactive and breakdown work on mechanical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine PPM on all mechanical plant according to site task schedules and asset lists
• Complete reactive tasks throughout the building, including concessionary stores and fabric-related items, and proactively highlight areas for improvement
• Complete and submit paperwork for reactive and breakdown tasks and ensure compliance with contractual KPIs and SLAs
• Maintain good relationships with colleagues, subcontractors and client representatives
• Keep plant rooms locked, clean and tidy
• Supervise and monitor subcontractors' work on site
• Ensure compliance with Permit to Work, safety procedures and client requirements, promoting safe practice with correct PPE and following method statements and risk assessments

Required profile

• Formal training in a mechanical engineering discipline such as HVAC or plumbing, to City and Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 2
• 2+ years' experience in a similar role

Required skills

• Knowledge of HVAC, hot and cold water systems and generators
• Ability to fault-find using graphical and alarm data
• Basic electrical knowledge is desirable
