Forklift Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Forklift Engineer to join our client’s service team in Newcastle upon Tyne. The role involves maintaining and repairing forklift trucks and other plant machinery, ensuring high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Commission, service and maintain forklift trucks and related equipment.
• Diagnose faults, repair or replace defective parts and request spares via PDA.
• Report scheduled work to the Service Co‑ordinator and follow service team procedures.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers.
• Adhere to health & safety, quality and compliance policies on site.
• Undertake personal development and attend required training courses.

Required profile

• NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong numeracy and analytical abilities.
• Knowledge of forklift trucks and their maintenance.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and support colleagues.
• Flexible, courteous and customer‑focused attitude.
