Foundational DevOps Engineer for Stealth AI Startup

About the role

We are a well‑funded stealth AI startup building cutting‑edge scientific experimentation platforms. As a Foundational DevOps Engineer you will design and implement the core infrastructure that powers AI research and production workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and own cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters for GPU‑intensive AI workloads.
• Provision and maintain GPU compute environments for model training and inference.
• Create CI/CD and GitOps pipelines that enable safe, rapid releases.
• Implement observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident‑response processes.
• Establish security best practices across IAM, secrets, networking, and vulnerability management.
• Develop internal tooling to allow researchers and engineers to self‑serve infrastructure.

Required profile

• Strong background in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Infrastructure.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform or Pulumi, and major cloud providers.
• Comfortable working with Linux, networking, CI/CD, monitoring, and security.
• Bias for ownership and ability to build pragmatic solutions in an early‑stage environment.
• Curious, collaborative, and self‑driven.
