Foundry Operative

About the role

Acorn by Synergie is seeking a Foundry Operative for a busy manufacturing client in South Molton. The position offers full‑time hours on a rotating shift pattern (6 am‑2 pm or 2 pm‑10 pm) with a clear pathway from temporary to permanent employment.

Key responsibilities

• Knock out moulds to remove shells after casting.
• Water‑blast moulds to clear residual shell before band‑saw work.
• Cut castings using semi‑automatic and manual band saws.
• Trim casting gates and remove surplus shell or metal.
• Dry‑blast components to achieve a uniform matte finish.
• Handle hot moulds to support ongoing casting processes.
• Pack and label castings for subcontracted operations.
• Follow strict health‑and‑safety procedures and identify hazards.
• Collaborate safely with team members and assist with daily tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience working safely in challenging industrial environments.
• Ability to follow job‑card routines and set procedures.
• Capability to interpret routing cards and meet specified standards.
• Skill in identifying defects and performing quality checks.
