FP&A Analyst / Assistant Accountant – Hybrid – Edinburgh

About the role

This permanent position supports a global private‑equity backed business in Edinburgh. Reporting to the FP&A Manager, you will partner with commercial and operational teams to analyse performance, influence strategy and help drive the next phase of growth.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse sales, revenue and pricing data and provide commentary for decision‑making.
• Partner with non‑financial stakeholders, challenge assumptions and drive performance improvements.
• Support month‑end activities including journal entries, balance‑sheet reconciliations, accruals and reporting schedules.
• Conduct variance analysis and maintain revenue, margin and profitability models.
• Assist with forecasting, budgeting and continuous process improvement projects.
• Undertake ad‑hoc analysis and special projects as required.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified or QBE FP&A Analyst or Assistant Accountant.
• Experience in a similar finance role or strong ambition to move into a commercial finance position.
• Excellent analytical mindset with the ability to communicate insights clearly.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Power BI (advantageous).
