FP&A Analyst

About the role

Cedar is partnering with a well‑established, large‑scale transport business to recruit a qualified FP&A Analyst. The role sits within a commercially focused finance team, providing senior stakeholders with financial insight to support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the annual budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting processes.
• Produce detailed financial models to support business decisions and investment cases.
• Deliver insightful variance analysis and provide clear commentary on financial performance.
• Produce and monitor financial and operational KPIs for senior management.
• Partner with finance and operational teams to identify opportunities to improve performance.
• Support month‑end reporting, board packs and executive‑level analysis.
• Develop and enhance reporting through improved use of Excel, data and analytics.

Required profile

• Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) – essential.
• Previous experience in FP&A, Commercial Finance or Financial Analysis within industry.
• Strong experience of budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and management reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling, handling large datasets and building robust reporting models.
• Confident analysing financial data and turning insights into commercial recommendations.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders.
• Commercially minded, proactive and naturally analytical.
