FPGA Engineer – Trading Team (Quant Firm)

About the role

Join a leading global quant firm as an FPGA Engineer on the Trading Team. You will help design and build the next generation of high‑performance hardware solutions that power fast networking, compute, and real‑time acceleration for trading applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise FPGA hardware for low‑latency trading systems.
• Collaborate with traders, technologists, and software engineers to co‑design hybrid hardware/software solutions.
• Implement and verify RTL using SystemVerilog, Verilog or VHDL.
• Integrate C++ components and high‑level synthesis flows where appropriate.
• Maintain and improve CI pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub) for hardware builds.
• Troubleshoot performance bottlene‑cks and ensure reliability of deployed systems.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on FPGA development with ownership of projects.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and pragmatic approach to technology trade‑offs.
• Not a fresh graduate; experienced professionals only.

Required skills

• SystemVerilog, Verilog or VHDL (3+ years).
• C++ programming experience.
• Linux environment and scripting (preferably Python).
• High‑level synthesis flows.
• Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub, ctypes and SWIG.
