Freelance Foundation Pharmacist Tutor

About the role

Buttercups Training, part of the Lyceum Education Group, is seeking experienced pharmacists to work as freelance tutors for the Foundation Training Consortium (FTC). The role involves delivering high‑quality, in‑person training to foundation trainee pharmacists across the West Midlands.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver face‑to‑face training sessions for foundation trainee pharmacists at multiple sites in the West Midlands.
• Monitor learner performance, provide remote support and signpost additional resources as needed.
• Liaise with workplace supervisors and educational supervisors to track learner progression.
• Maintain accurate learner records and contribute to programme KPIs.
• Collaborate with administration teams to raise employer concerns when appropriate.
• Participate in standardisation, quality‑driven activities and continuous professional development (CPD).
• Assist in developing and updating training materials.
• Undertake any other reasonable tasks required for programme delivery.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Minimum of 5 years post‑registration experience.
• Proven experience supporting pre‑registration or foundation pharmacist trainees.
• Strong clinical knowledge and ability to apply it in practice.
• Familiarity with education and training standards for foundation pharmacist trainees.
• Willingness and ability to travel across the West Midlands.
• Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and meet deadlines.
