Freight Account Manager – North East England

About the role

Corrigan Bentley is seeking an experienced Freight Account Manager to join its commercial team covering North East England. The role combines account management with proactive sales of road and ocean freight services, offering a hybrid working pattern and a competitive remuneration package.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop existing customer accounts, ensuring high satisfaction.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities through prospecting, networking and outbound sales.
• Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline and convert opportunities into profitable contracts.
• Conduct face‑to‑face meetings with customers and prospects to understand requirements.
• Promote and sell international freight services, focusing on road and ocean freight.
• Collaborate with internal operations teams to guarantee excellent service delivery.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate rates and support commercial growth.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts and account activity.

Required profile

• Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics sales or account management.
• Strong knowledge of road and/or ocean freight services.
• Proven ability to develop commercial relationships and grow revenue.
• Target‑driven, commercially minded approach.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

What we offer

• Basic salary £40,000‑£45,000 per year.
• £5,000 car allowance.
• 5% commission on gross profit.
• Hybrid working (2‑3 days in the office).
