Freight Forwarder – Import & Customs Specialist

About the role

Mellfields Limited is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder to manage import maritime shipments and customs procedures. The role focuses on Full Container Load (FCL) and Less than Container Load (LCL) handling, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and process import maritime freight, including FCL and LCL shipments.
• Prepare and submit Customs Import CDS entries, preferably using the ASM system.
• Handle export customs declarations where required.
• Produce Transit T1 documents as needed.
• Utilise CNS DESTIN8 and ETSF systems for shipment tracking and customs compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years experience in import maritime freight forwarding.
• Familiarity with handling import shipments and transport operations.
• Ability to adapt to different customs software platforms.

Required skills

• Import maritime freight handling (FCL/LCL).
• Customs Import CDS entry preparation.
• ASM system knowledge (or similar customs software).
• Export customs declaration preparation (advantageous).
• Transit T1 documentation production (advantageous).
• Proficiency with CNS DESTIN8.
• Proficiency with ETSF.
