French Teacher – Full-Time (Sept 2026 – Mar 2027)

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is hiring a French Teacher for a well‑regarded secondary school in Durham. The role runs from September 2026 to March 2027 and involves delivering high‑quality French lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils in a supportive, ambitious environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging French lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Assess, monitor and support student progress.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students.
• Promote a passion for languages and cultural awareness.
• Contribute positively to the wider school community.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching French within a UK secondary school.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for modern foreign languages.
• Two professional references covering the last two years.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
