French‑Speaking Practice Manager (UK)

About the role

EFFIGEST, a multidisciplinary accounting firm, is expanding its UK operations and seeks a French‑speaking Practice Manager to lead a small team of accountants. Reporting to the Partner in France, you will manage client statutory and tax filings while supporting business development in the UK market.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily advisory and service to French‑ and English‑speaking clients.
• Attend monthly and ad‑hoc finance meetings with clients.
• Lead and coach the in‑house team and junior apprentices.
• Prepare and review quarterly management accounts, annual statutory accounts for limited companies and charities.
• Prepare and review quarterly VAT returns and Self‑Assessment Tax Returns, including CGT, IHT and CIS.

Required profile

• Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
• ACA or ACCA qualified with at least five years of experience in an accounting practice or professional services firm.
• Strong practice background covering limited companies, sole traders, SATR filings, VAT and CIS matters.
• Familiarity with French accounting principles and standards.
• Practical understanding of payroll processes and compliance.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Sage Line 50 or a comparable accounting system.
