Frontline Officer

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Frontline Officer to join the Adult Care and Support Intake Team in Barking. As the first point of contact for residents seeking Adult Social Care, you will provide timely advice, early intervention and help people access the right services.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for Adult Social Care enquiries.
• Conduct initial assessments, pre‑screening and needs‑based conversations with residents.
• Provide information, advice, sign‑posting and referrals to internal and external support services.
• Identify opportunities for early intervention and preventative support.
• Resolve enquiries at the earliest possible stage and take ownership of outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records across multiple IT systems.
• Recognise safeguarding concerns and follow escalation procedures.
• Build professional relationships with colleagues, partners and community organisations.
• Promote self‑service options and community‑based support.
• Contribute to service improvement by sharing knowledge and identifying better outcomes.

Required profile

• Experience working in a customer‑focused environment.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £20.96 (PAYE) or £27.33 (Umbrella).
• Fixed‑term contract for 3–6 months, full‑time.
• On‑site role based in Barking, South East England.
