Full Stack Developer

About the role

The Conservative Party is seeking a Full‑Stack Developer to design, build and enhance digital systems that support its nationwide political campaigning. The position is primarily home‑based with occasional visits to the Leeds or London headquarters for meetings and collaborative work.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications and APIs using modern front‑end frameworks.
• Design, implement and optimise data pipelines and large‑scale transactional queries in SQL Server.
• Apply web security best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality code that meets business needs.
• Contribute to the architecture and design of scalable, enterprise‑grade systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience building full‑stack solutions with a focus on code quality and delivery.
• Strong data engineering and analytical skills for handling large, complex datasets.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Required skills

• Web security and secure application development lifecycle.
• Front‑end development with TypeScript and frameworks such as Angular, Vue.js or React.
• C#/.NET development, including software design patterns and architectural principles.
• SQL Server, T‑SQL and SQL Server Management Studio for high‑volume transactional queries.
• API design and integration.
• Optional/beneficial: UX design, mobile development, Playwright testing, CI/CD pipelines on Windows, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG).
