Full Stack Engineer – Innovation Team (Remote, UK)

About the role

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join the Innovation Team at Matomo. You will work remotely from anywhere in the United Kingdom, turning high‑impact concepts into production‑ready features that extend Matomo’s privacy‑first analytics platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prototype and deliver new backend (PHP) and frontend (JavaScript) functionalities for the core platform.
• Explore and validate innovative product ideas, including AI‑driven insights, visualisations and integrations.
• Collaborate closely with the CTO, co‑founders and senior engineers using Slack, Jira and Confluence.
• Own the full development lifecycle from concept through deployment and integration.
• Write automated tests, review code and produce clear technical documentation.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of professional experience in backend development.
• Ability to work autonomously in a small, remote team and manage blockers proactively.
• Strong focus on code quality, security and scalability.
