Full Stack PHP Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Full Stack PHP Engineer to join a product‑focused team building a high‑traffic, regulated platform. You will work remotely most of the time, with occasional meet‑ups in Oxford, delivering end‑to‑end features across the stack.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement new features using Laravel on the backend and Alpine.js/Tailwind CSS on the frontend.
• Write clean, well‑tested code with PHPUnit, Playwright and PHPStan.
• Improve performance of database queries and client‑side rendering.
• Address technical debt while avoiding over‑engineering.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and Docker‑based development environments.
• Operate within a regulated industry, ensuring compliance and security.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Laravel and PHP 8.x.
• Solid understanding of SQL and database performance.
• Ability to create responsive, accessible user interfaces.
• Testing mindset with a focus on code quality.
• Clear communicator who thrives in a small, collaborative team.
