Full-time Day Care Assistant

About the role

Prime Life is seeking a compassionate full‑time Day Care Assistant to join its team at the Birch Green care home in Skelmersdale. You will support 74 residents with a range of physical, age‑related and mental health needs, helping them maintain dignity and independence each day.

Key responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal hygiene and selecting appropriate clothing.
• Support mealtimes, ensuring adequate nutrition and hydration.
• Encourage safe mobilisation using mobility aids and specialist equipment.
• Provide companionship, accompany residents on outings or appointments, and welcome family visitors.
• Maintain accurate written records and complete required documentation.
• Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team to promote residents’ health and well‑being.

Required profile

• Genuine caring nature with patience, understanding and respect for individual abilities.
• Ability to work within set shift patterns (33 hours per week, 8 am‑8 pm across a 7‑day week).
• Willingness to undergo full training; prior care experience is desirable but not essential.
