About the role
We are seeking a passionate Geography Teacher to join a secondary school in Durham on a full‑time, temporary basis. The role starts in September 2026 and will cover an ongoing staff absence, providing continuity for students and the department.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
- Inspire students to explore physical and human geography, global issues, and environmental topics.
- Assess student progress, give constructive feedback, and support individual learning needs.
- Create an inclusive, positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and participation.
- Collaborate with the Humanities department and wider school staff.
Required profile
- Experience teaching Geography at secondary school level.
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for geography.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse learners.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
