Full-Time Teaching Assistant – KS1 & SEND

About the role

This full‑time Teaching Assistant position supports a Year 2 class in the mornings and works within the school’s SEND provision in the afternoons. The role runs from September on a long‑term supply basis, offering a stable timetable across the academic year.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Year 2 teacher with classroom activities, lesson preparation and student engagement during morning sessions.
• Provide targeted support to pupils with additional needs as part of the SEND provision in the afternoon.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment throughout the school day.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt resources for diverse learners.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
• Confidence working with KS1 pupils, specifically Year 2.
• Understanding of SEND principles is highly desirable.
• Flexible and proactive attitude for moving between mainstream and SEND settings.
