Full‑Time Supply Geography Teacher – Durham

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Geography Teacher to join a secondary school in Durham on a full‑time, temporary basis. The role starts in September 2026 and will cover an ongoing staff absence, allowing you to make a meaningful impact on pupils' learning.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
• Inspire students to explore physical and human geography, global issues and environmental topics.
• Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback and support development.
• Create an inclusive, positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities.
• Collaborate with the Humanities department and wider school staff.

Required profile

• Experience teaching Geography at secondary school level.
• Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for geography.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching approaches for diverse learners.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
