Funeral Attendant – Full‑time role with on‑call rota

About the role
Join the Co‑op funeral service crew and help families say a respectful goodbye to their loved ones. The role is based in Bradford (Wibsey) with occasional travel to Keighley and involves a mix of on‑site duties and an on‑call rota.
Key responsibilities
- Collect the deceased from various locations with professionalism and empathy.
- Bear coffins and operate funeral vehicles on the day of the service.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment, vehicles and facilities.
- Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
- Prepare the deceased for viewings and the funeral ceremony.
- Enter and update client information in management applications daily.
- Safely lift, carry and move coffins using handling aids and follow health‑and‑safety guidance.
Required profile
- Full UK manual driving licence.
- Physical ability to perform manual lifting and moving of coffins.
- Calm, compassionate response in emotional situations.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to regulatory policies.
Required skills
- Computer literacy – confident use of tablets, smartphones, printers and scanners.
