Funeral Service Crew – Coroner Service

About the role
Join the Co‑op Funeralcare Coroner Service team in Bristol as a Funeral Service Crew member. You will be responsible for the respectful transfer and care of deceased individuals on behalf of the Coroner, supporting investigations and providing compassionate service to bereaved families.
Key responsibilities
- Safely remove and transfer deceased persons to mortuaries or post‑mortem facilities.
- Support the Coroner’s investigation process by ensuring timely transfers for examination or identification.
- Provide a professional, compassionate service when interacting with families.
- Collaborate with Coroner officers, police, healthcare professionals, funeral directors and mortuary staff.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of transfers, collections and admissions.
- Keep equipment, vehicles and facilities clean and ready for use.
- Prepare coffins and engrave name plates as required.
- Assist in the care and preparation of the deceased to the highest standards.
- Ensure compliance with legal, health‑and‑safety and infection‑control procedures.
Required profile
- Full UK manual driving licence.
- Sensitive approach to customer service with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and compassionate in emotionally charged situations.

- Full UK manual driving licence.
