Funeral Service Crew – Full/Part Time

About the role

Join the Co‑op funeral service crew to help families say a respectful goodbye to their loved ones. No prior funeral experience is required – we provide full training, ongoing support and a range of benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from various locations with professionalism and empathy.
• Transport and bear coffins, and drive funeral vehicles.
• Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
• Prepare the deceased for viewings and the funeral, ensuring dignity and respect.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, vehicles and facilities.
• Enter and update client information in management applications daily.
• Safely lift, carry and move coffins using handling aids and follow health‑and‑safety guidance.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driver’s licence.
• Physical ability to perform manual lifting and handling of coffins safely.
• Good IT literacy – comfortable using computers, tablets, smartphones, printers and scanners.
• Calm and compassionate response in emotional situations with an empathetic customer‑service approach.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record‑keeping.

Required skills

• Computer operation (e.g., using PCs, tablets, smartphones, printers, scanners).

What we offer

• £13.24 per hour plus benefits.
• Full‑time (37.5 h) and part‑time (18.75 h) contracts, Monday‑Friday 8 am‑8 pm.
