Furniture Engineer / Maker

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Furniture Engineer / Maker to join our refurbishment team at our Golborne site. Working in a fast‑paced warehouse environment, you will restore a wide range of furniture items to a high resale standard.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and grade furniture damage using our grading guide.
• Repair and refurbish upholstered, flat‑pack, wooden, dining and bedroom furniture.
• Perform structural repairs, sanding, refinishing, re‑upholstering and component replacement.
• Record product details accurately in cloud‑based spreadsheets.
• Wrap, pack and prepare restored items for transport.
• Follow SOPs to meet daily, weekly and monthly performance targets.
• Adhere to safety policies and promote a safety‑first culture.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience or strong interest in furniture refurbishment.
• Attention to detail for grading and quality control.
• Ability to work safely with manual handling and power tools.
• Good time‑management and teamwork skills in a dynamic environment.

Required skills

• Furniture repair and refurbishment (upholstered, wooden, flat‑pack, dining, bedroom).
• Proficient use of hand and power tools – drills, sanders, staple guns, upholstery tools.
• Knowledge of materials – fabrics, leather, wood, composite.
• Spreadsheet data entry (cloud‑based).
