FX eTrading Java Developer (VP level)

About the role

Citi is looking for a senior Java developer to join its FX eTrading team in London. You will work on the design, implementation and optimisation of high‑performance FX trading systems that support the bank’s global operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain Java‑based components of the FX trading platform.
• Collaborate with FX Trading Technology teams to deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Participate in architecture design discussions and contribute to system‑wide improvements.
• Ensure code quality by following Citi’s documented policies, standards and best practices.
• Provide technical guidance to junior team members and assist with knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Strong passion for producing clean, testable code.
• Ability to work effectively in a high‑performing, collaborative team environment.
• Willingness to engage with end‑users and translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Required skills

• Java programming language.
