Gas Responsible Person

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Gas Responsible Person to lead the safe management, operation and compliance of gas networks across a designated estate in Cambridgeshire. Working from home with regular site visits, you will act as the primary point of contact for all gas‑related matters, providing specialist advice and assurance to operational teams, contractors and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and assurance on gas safety across the estate.
• Support the development, implementation and review of Gas Safety Management Plans.
• Review and manage safe systems of work, permits, risk assessments and method statements.
• Assess competence of Gas Skilled Persons and support their training and development.
• Contribute gas‑related input to maintenance, project and operational activities.
• Support audits, inspections, risk meetings and corrective‑action processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders to improve gas safety performance.

Required profile

• Strong experience in gas safety management within commercial and domestic environments.
• Knowledge of gas distribution networks, utilisation systems and LPG installations.
• Experience with Gas Safety Management Plans and safe control of operations.
• Ability to review work standards, assess competence and support compliance.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, safety‑focused approach.
• Relevant gas qualifications; experience in MOD or similarly regulated environments is advantageous.
