About the role
Pearson is seeking a qualified teacher to moderate GCE A Level English Language and Literature (2016 Specification) assessments. You will review centre‑submitted work, apply the agreed mark scheme, and ensure consistency across samples.
Key responsibilities
- Moderate centre assessment samples for coursework, projects and special studies.
- Apply sampling procedures and, when required, directly assess school‑based components.
- Prepare and submit centre reports to the Team Leader or Principal Moderator.
- Participate in training sessions held between May and June.
Required profile
- At least one academic year of teaching experience within the last eight years, in the relevant subject.
- Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Qualified teacher status.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Required skills
- High level of subject knowledge in English Language and Literature to apply the mark scheme accurately.
