GCP AI Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer – London

About the role

We are looking for an experienced GCP AI Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer to join a leading financial services organisation’s AI function in London. Working hybrid (3‑4 days onsite), you will design, build and operate secure, compliant cloud environments that power a fast‑growing portfolio of AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build, manage and maintain AI‑focused cloud environments on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure.
• Support development, testing and production workloads, including model hosting, vector databases and API gateway services.
• Implement and operate LLMOps tooling such as model registries, evaluation frameworks, monitoring pipelines and prompt‑management solutions.
• Configure and secure API gateways for internal AI services and third‑party integrations, including Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectors.
• Provision sandbox and staging environments to accelerate AI experimentation.
• Collaborate with Information Security and Compliance teams to meet regulatory, governance and data‑residency requirements.
• Drive incident management, maintain service levels and oversee cloud cost governance, budgeting and optimisation.
• Document infrastructure designs, runbooks and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and operating AI cloud platforms on GCP and Azure.
• Strong understanding of security, compliance and data‑residency standards in the financial sector.
• Ability to work collaboratively with AI developers, infrastructure, and security teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to cost optimisation.

• Competitive salary £90,000‑£115,000 per year
