About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic GCSE English Teacher to join a thriving Further Education college in Greater Manchester. You will deliver engaging English lessons to post‑16 learners, supporting both resit and progression cohorts while fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality GCSE English teaching to post‑16 learners.
• Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with curriculum requirements.
• Track and support student progress, providing targeted interventions where needed.
• Create an inclusive and motivating learning environment.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
• Support learners in achieving successful exam outcomes and progression goals.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification or proven strong experience teaching GCSE English in the UK.
• Strong subject knowledge of the GCSE English Language and/or Literature curriculum.
• Experience teaching English in FE, secondary or adult education settings.
• Ability to engage and inspire learners of varying abilities.
• Commitment to high standards and student success.
• DBS clearance required.

Required skills

• Recognised teaching qualification.
• In‑depth knowledge of GCSE English Language and Literature specifications.
• Experience designing and delivering lessons for post‑16 learners.
