About the role

As a General Assistant at a Barchester care home, you will support the delivery of high‑quality care and create a warm, homely environment for residents. Your day will vary, covering housekeeping, cleaning, laundry and catering duties while always putting residents first.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain clean and safe communal areas and resident rooms.
  • Perform laundry services and ensure fresh linens are available.
  • Assist with basic catering tasks, including meal preparation and service.
  • Support residents with day‑to‑day needs, fostering a friendly atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with the care team to uphold health‑and‑safety standards.

Required profile

  • Reliable, compassionate and caring attitude.
  • Practical and willing to undertake a variety of tasks.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with residents.
  • Open to training and development opportunities.
