General Building Operative / Handyman

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Handyman/General Operative to join a well‑established facilities‑maintenance business on a static site in Reading. The role is full‑time, Monday to Friday, and offers a competitive salary up to £33,780 per year.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the site.
- Replace door locks, fit skirting boards, hang doors, and install or repair taps, sinks and toilets.
- Perform painting and decorating duties as required.
- Liaise with site management, clients and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with other engineers to ensure smooth operation of facilities.
Required profile
- Any trade qualification (e.g., carpentry, plumbing) – Legionella L8 desirable but not essential.
- Eligibility to live and work in the United Kingdom.
- Commitment to health, safety and equality standards.
