General Cover Teacher – Flexible Temporary Role

About the role

Randstad Education is seeking General Cover Teachers to step into secondary school classrooms across Liverpool, Knowsley and Halton on a short‑term basis. The role is ideal for retired teachers wanting occasional classroom contact or early‑career teachers (ECTs) looking to broaden their experience in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons across a range of subjects, keeping pupils engaged and on track.
• Maintain a positive and orderly learning atmosphere using effective classroom management techniques.
• Collaborate with school staff, building temporary but productive relationships with colleagues and students.

Required profile

• A recognised UK teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, BA QTS, QTLS, etc.).
• Strong classroom management and a professional attitude.
• Reliable work ethic and a genuine passion for impacting young learners.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
