General Manager – B2B E‑commerce (Middlesbrough)

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑driven General Manager to take full ownership of a profitable B2B e‑commerce business serving the trade and construction sector in Middlesbrough. You will have P&L responsibility and lead commercial performance, customer experience, operations and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead overall performance of the B2B e‑commerce business
• Drive online sales, profitability and commercial growth
• Manage trading performance, including revenue, margin and conversion
• Improve the online customer journey and website performance
• Work with external digital marketing partners to drive traffic, conversion and revenue
• Lead, develop and motivate the team
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability and long‑term growth
• Take full ownership of the P&L and overall business performance

Required profile

• Experience leading a B2B e‑commerce business or division
• Strong commercial acumen with P&L responsibility
• Proven track record of growing online revenue and profitability
• Hands‑on, entrepreneurial leadership style
• Experience within trade, construction or industrial sectors is advantageous (not essential)

• Up to £100,000 basic salary (depending on experience)
• Uncapped profit share – realistic Year 1 OTE £130,000–£150,000
